On this final night of live tent revival in the WGGS TV-16 studio, Dante Thompson hands off the microphone to Pastor Bill Critser. No stranger to Nite Line, especially to the Friday night crowd, he brings the word of the Lord as powerfully as he is capable and allows the Lord to blow upon it and light an eternal fire in his listeners.
Battle Cry – a quintet made up of DeeDee Whitely, Dwayne Edwards, Judy Edwards, Paula Probus, and Tim Probus – ministers as mightily as they know how: in song!
DeeDee was born Deandra Sue Whitely, but is known affectionately as DeeDee by everyone she meets. She and her husband, Darin, have been married for twenty-five years and have two wonderful boys (ages twenty-three and nineteen) that they love tremendously. While she has sung since she was a wee youngster, it was only in the last nineteen years that she has begun to sing in churches, It is in these two ministries, family and Battle Cry, that she feels she best serves the Lord in love.
Dwayne Edwards displayed a passion for singing and playing music at a very early age, but it was only in his teenage years that he began to open for country artists. Then music took a back seat until he came to know the Lord. It was after his personal revelation of Jesus the Christ that he began to sing and play with various gospel groups and travel the country ministering. His ministry with Battle Cry remains unchanged: created an opportunity for Christ to work in his listener’s lives and change their worlds.
Judy Edwards has always considered Gospel music to be her escape from this world of sin and trouble. It was from her parents that she learned about Christ and how to sit at the feet of Jesus and simply enjoy. Her mentor, Janice K. Embry, taught her how to sing and how to play music, allowing her to engage Christ as escape her troubles in life. It is her honor to serve with Battle Cry and carry the Word everywhere.
Paula Probus has been singing Gospel music for as long as she can remember. Married to her best friend with two beautiful children, she is excited to have one grandson to spoil and another on the way! She serves as the music director and afternoon DJ for WJCR 90.1 FM in Upton, Kentucky. Well educated, she possesses a Bachelor degree in psychology and is currently working towards a Master’s degree in mental health counseling. Despite the hours required in higher learning, music is such a part of who she is that she gladly makes time to travel and share her loves with audiences across America.
Tim Probus was taught how to play and sing Gospel music at an early age by his preacher father. A minister in his own right, Tim has been preaching the word of the Lord for sixteen years. Not only that, but he carries on the tradition of Smith Wigglesworth: he is a master plumber by trade and operates his own business! Despite that, he knows his true purpose is to lift up our Lord in song, word, and deed.
Do not miss the finale to Nite Line’s two weeks of tent revival live from the WGGS TV-16 studio!
