On Nite Line tonight, Pastor Keith Kelly hosts Dr. David Cox and Anne Voortmans.
Dr. David Cox is a familiar pundit to the Nite Line family. An author, speaker, and Christian Life Coach from Spartanburg, South Carolina, he holds a bachelors degree in religion from Wofford college and both a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. During his training, he completed a two-year clinical residence as a hospital chaplain at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, as well as a three-year pastoral internship in the Pastoral counseling Center of First Baptist church of Spartanburg. In addition to all this, he also completed paramedic training and was a senior paramedic for Spartanburg EMS, being named the 1989 South Carolina Paramedic of the Year.
As an ordained minister, Dr. Cox has served various churches as both a youth minister and pastoral counselor prior to embarking upon his Christian Life Coach practice in 1992. In 1997, he founded a local SOS (Survivors of Suicide) support group and facilitated it until he felt called to devote time to writing for those living through such traumatic times. It has been in the time since that he released his first book, Aftershock: Help, Hope, and Healing in the Wake of Suicide, with Candy Arrington. He has additionally contributed to the book The Art of Helping. His articles have been printed in Focus on the Family magazine, his voice has been heard on Family Life Today and Life Matters with Dr. David Cox, and his face is familiar due to national television programs Helpline and Time for Hope.
Ann Voortmans resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband, Frank. Together, they facilitate her musical ministry, traveling and glorifying God in Southern Gospel music. Under the name Virginia Ann Voortmans, she has released a CD entitled I’ll Take Jesus. Tonight, she blesses the audience with her vocal abilities and the Lord with her heart.
